Intention:

Come together in community to co-create experiences and collaborate in a variety of activities that promote reflection, connection with the self and other, fun, creativity, and nourish our body, mind, and spirit.

 

Theme:

Our activities and flow of the weekend will center around the significance of the full moon during the winter season and what it represents in our lives. What brings us light and warmth in a time where the days are shorter and the environment is colder? How can we harness the power of the light the moon reflects back at us to illuminate all the possibilities and wonders in our lives?

What:

Intention setting, opening and closing circles

Meditation, yoga, sound healing, cacao ceremony, therapeutic drumming workshop, art, reflective journaling, improv games, authentic relating for interpersonal connection, fire dance performance 

Friday evening vegetarian potluck dinner with socializing and connecting by the fire

Vegetarian meals provided by the White Lotus Staff, Botanical Fare, and Milan

 All participants are requested to fill out a registration form.

Total price with the room includes a one person ticket for activities and meals.

Room share option:

Please have your roommate fill out a registration form and select the $125 option to pay for themselves.

Vegetarian meals included are: breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday, breakfast on Sunday.

Friday's dinner will be a vegetarian, potluck, so please bring something healthy and nourishing to contribute. This will be an alcohol and substance free event so we can best align with the intention to be present and clear minded throughout our retreat. 

 

You are encouraged to book rooms at the Zen Barn for Friday and Saturday night (check in 4pm check out 12pm on Sunday), but are also welcome to just attend the workshops and activities. 

All participants are required to register and book rooms through the registration form.

Payments must be received by January 13th to guarantee your spot and room.

The last day for a full refund is January 6th.

Victoria is a language and culture educator, writer, performing artist, and the event manager at the White Lotus. She is a member of Charlottesville's Bent Theatre Comedy Improv group and Bad Hat Fire Troupe. Victoria has hosted a number of events that promote connection, reflection, and creativity among participants, such a Aligning with Autumn: A Mindfulness Retreat. She finds that setting intention through ritual and presence, one can more clearly experience truth and connection.

Victoria Bryant

David is the founder and architect of the White Lotus Eco Spa Retreat.  He began his journey exploring mindfulness and meditation as a student of Swami Satchidananda at Yogaville 30 years ago. He has taught both yoga and meditation and has been a professional juggler and performing artist for 25 years.  He is a member of the Bad Hat Fire Troupe in Charlottesville.

David VanDerveer

Anya is a Charlottesville based Yoga Teacher, Meditation Guide, and Feng Shui consultant. She began her journey in 2013 and completed her teacher certification in Costa Rica with Reflections Yoga. Anya will help you reconnect with your body, prevent pain and practice flowing with acceptance and self love. She focuses on moving from truth and compassion. By acknowledging our truth and meeting it with compassion, we can move with more freedom and build a strong foundation.

Catering By:

Waverly Davis (she/her) is a mother, facilitator of sacred spaces + sounds, artist, and podcaster. She has been facilitating sacred spaces + sounds for over 7 years, working with both somatic and spiritual modalities and practices to support her clients.

Waverly has studied with and learned from indigenous medicine people and plant medicines, as well as practitioners of sound healing, breathwork, somatic experiencing, depth hypnosis, and ecstatic dance. She draws wisdom from all these trainings and experiences in her work.

Waverly Davis

Jennifer has been drumming for 13 years and teaching on andoff for 10.  She is a certified beginning drum instructor through Tam Tam Mandingue Djembe Academy.  She also teaches djembe and dunun, percussive dance, and therapeutic drumming.  Drumming has the power to heal, and synchronizes the brain's hemisphere to stimulate beneficial alpha waves and endorphins.  This can serve as a catalyst for learning, growth, and creative expression.
